The forecast of economic and social development of Ukraine for 2020-2022 was approved by resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 555 dated 15.05.2019 ”On approval of the forecast of economic and social development of Ukraine for 2020-2022”.
The forecast of economic and social development of Ukraine for 2020-2022 (hereinafter – the Forecast) was developed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine with the participation of interested central executive authorities.
The purpose of the document development is to identify possible scenarios for the development of Ukraine’s economy for 2020-2022 and quantitative benchmarks for the implementation of such scenarios as the basis for making managerial decisions, as well as the formation of medium-term development benchmarks for business and investors.
The Forecast was developed according to the scenario based on the analysis of development of domestic economy in 2016-2018, current economic situation, assumptions that take into account the influence of external and internal factors, and is based on the predicted estimates of Ukraine’s economic development in 2020-2022 as a whole, and by the sectors of economy.
The Forecast also contains an assessment of the impact on the Ukrainian economy of the implementation of the conditions of the alternative scenario, which include the possible deployment of a new wave of global financial and economic crisis, as well as the impact of other possible external and internal risks.
In addition, given that Ukraine has joined the global sustainable development process, the forecast reflects the progress Ukraine is likely to make in achieving the targets of Goals 8 and 9 of the National Report “Sustainable Development Goals: Ukraine” (hereinafter – the SDG) The achievement of SDGs will require profound socio-economic transformations in Ukraine and a new global partnership. That is why understanding the prospects of achieving the SDGs will allow timely adjust policies and ensure necessary progress.
